Literature Text
Your songs are always for someone else, dear
Our kinship, something you seem to fear
Your words are like rainbows, roses and butterflies
Fleeting, gentle little lies
Always attempting to earn my trust
But, that coat of arms has so much rust
Fleeting promises of someday
Shoving me quickly, out of the way
Whenever I think I can trust you
You're gone again, out of the blue
You think about others, who pay you no mind
But, leave those that do care, far behind
You've yet to learn the truth, my dear
I've always, and will always be here
This tie that we've come to share
Is a burden that I, alone, seem to bear
If this bond should ever break
I promise, I'll leave you behind in my wake
Our kinship, something you seem to fear
Your words are like rainbows, roses and butterflies

Always attempting to earn my trust
But, that coat of arms has so much rust
Fleeting promises of someday

Contradiction
Saying one thing,
Whilst meaning another,
And changing your story,
Shows me your true colors
It shows me who you really are,
Deep down inside,
And it seems that no longer,
Is it something you can hide
You are a walking contradiction,
In body, mind, and words
You've shown each and every one of us,
Exactly how little you are worth
Your selfish motivations,
Serve only to cause grief,
But that no longer matters,
For we know in what you believe
Know that we don't believe in YOU,
Honestly, I don't feel we ever did,
And it's so much easier to say,
Now that we know what you've kept hid
Yes, a contradiction,
Meaning upon meaning a
Literature
Deny
Deny
With every look into my eyes,
You lie to me
Always caught up in your emotions,
And your selfish greed
You refuse to admit to anyone,
Just what you feel
And it's actions like this,
That make you less than real...
Alone...
Suffering...
Because you are always...
Denying...
When you deny!
You make no sense to me!
A life built on lies!
You end up hating everything!
And the cross that you bear,
Is not meant to be shared
It might be different if you cared...
But you deny...
Every word that you speak,
Is a whisper on the wind
You don't seem to understand,
Why you just can't fit in
You manufacture truth,

Tightrope
High above it all,
I teeter.
Under my feet,
the rope,
stretched so tight,
so little give.
Holding my breath,
closing my eyes.
It's not the height,
it's the fall I fear.
The rope is security,
no matter how tenuous.
The way things always are,
the way they've always been.
To fall, is to give in...
to you,
to something new,
something that shakes
the very core of me,
leaving me more breathless
than the height of the rope.
If I fall, it's a long way back...
if things fail,
if you hurt me.
And so I cling
to the tightrope,
to my life of solitude.
All the while,
staring at you below.

This came to me when thinking of a recent dream and a friend. So I wrote it down.

I feel like this poem is written about me. How I often push away those who care the most about me and vie for the attention of those who don't care at all. Simply amazing. The poem itself is very good as well.
