Literature Text

Your songs are always for someone else, dear
Our kinship, something you seem to fear
Your words are like rainbows, roses and butterflies
Fleeting, gentle little lies
Always attempting to earn my trust
But, that coat of arms has so much rust
Fleeting promises of someday
Shoving me quickly, out of the way
Whenever I think I can trust you
You're gone again, out of the blue
You think about others, who pay you no mind
But, leave those that do care, far behind
You've yet to learn the truth, my dear
I've always, and will always be here
This tie that we've come to share
Is a burden that I, alone, seem to bear
If this bond should ever break
I promise, I'll leave you behind in my wake
This came to me when thinking of a recent dream and a friend. So I wrote it down.

I feel like this poem is written about me. How I often push away those who care the most about me and vie for the attention of those who don't care at all. Simply amazing. The poem itself is very good as well.
